Is it possible to fall in love with a backpack? Because this pack is my new best friend. I was originally worried that the size may be too small to use as a carryon or a dayhike pack, but it holds a surprising amount of stuff. A pair of pants, jacket, shirt, scarf, gloves, thick hiking socks, tablet, a digital SLR camera (without the case), a medium-sized purse organizer full of other little things, AND my wallet and cellphone in the front pocket! Absolutely perfect - even packed with all that stuff, it doesn't feel too bulky and it still fits the size requirements for a carryon bag.I had been using it as a purse for weekend outings to break it in and received lots of compliments on the look of the bag. It is rustic and stylish while still being tough and durable. The straps are uncomfortable at first, especially if worn snugly, so it does take a while for the leather to soften. I recommend wearing it around, or just kneading the straps with your hands while watching TV or something.This is my first Duluth Pack and it's made a lifelong customer out of me, I plan to buy the Wanderer pack when I start doing longer/overnight hikes.
